User mention in posts (using the '@' symbol)

Post by Lewy » 19 Sep 2012, 21:43

Guys we have just installed an additional feature.

Put the '@' character in front of someone's name such as Lewy and that person will get a PM to let them know that they have been mentioned in a post.

Members only get one mention per thread though as otherwise you could all be getting shed loads of PMs when you're already aware of the thread but hopefully this will improve the way you can use the forum.

By all means ask if you have any questions

It's just that now if you want to use the '@' it has a function and so tries to link with what's next to it. Also if a user has spaces in between their name then you need to lay our like this after the '@' sign - "user name" if that makes sense? It does in my head...

I don't think you can get a PM if you tag yourself, but correct use though ;) Gus247
