730D Electonic handbrake

Hi Guys,
Is there a different way the electronic Park brake is supposed to be tested on the 7 series for the MOT.
It failed for a few strands of wire cut in the cables so I fitted 2 new cables and cleaned up the shoes.
It has failed again on low efficiency.

Now with my wifes car, which had just passed you drive along, put the handbrake on and its slows down to a stop over a distance,
you put the handbrake on and you can drive off easily something I am sure we have all done.

On the BMW you press the park button and it feels like you have stamped on the brakes, it almost tries to put you through the windscreen, try to drive off from a stop and it takes considerable effort.

It seems like it also applies the front brakes as the brake pedal locks down when the button is pressed.

Only thing I can think of with the handbrake seeming to be so good is should the test centre be testing 4 wheels or even if this is possible?

Thanks for any advice, Keith

I'm fairly certain the EHB only works on the rear. I assume your Wife's isn't a BMW?

Why would you be putting the hand brake on whilst driving or leaving it on whilst pulling away?.....
