Johnky's bad a** E63 M6 Project

Post by Johnky90 » 11 Aug 2012, 13:22

Hi all,

As some of you may know, I used to have an e63 630i sport coupe, which i sold about a couple of months ago.
I did start a project on that car but I gave up in the middle cus I really needed more power..
Hence I bought an e63 M6 (my dream car.. :D ) just before I went off to Korea for holiday and work..

Drive Train Parts
- Wheel spacers (10mm front, 12mm rear)
- 255/35/19 pirelli, 295/30/19 ZR Pirelli (305/30/19 if possible)
- Lowered spring all around (H&R or Eibach 25mm-30mm)
- Exhaust = QTP Exhaust Cutouts INSTALLED
= Resonator delete if not SS X-Pipe
= If custom exhaust used, look for Oval exhaust tips (120mm)

- Air scoops

List was originally made for myself so it may look a bit clumsy..
Please let me know if any of you have good ideas/recommendations(shops/installation methods/know-hows) on those mods
any thoughts, opinions are appreciated

Drive safe :D
Cheers!!

Excellent car in one of the best colours!

Sorry to be a killjoy, but I assume you know your front windows will be illegal here in the UK and make you liable for the occasional stop by Plod? 25% max for the fronts is the law!

I like the idea of a colour other than red for the calipers and grey seems good..........but may look like standard or worse - dirty silver.

I don't think wrap will sustain the heat on the engine cover so best to check before you buy? Heat resistant/dispersant paint might be a better option?

Wheel refurb = Dips on here!! See his threads.......

Spacers = Extremewheels also on here!

Sunstrip? A big no from me, but it's your car!

Angel eyes and possibly seat belt pads - maybe ask Teddy at SSDD? Lots of AEs for sale but some will thrown up error messages so buy carefully. I think Lewy just got some off EBay without issues?

I'm not certain (so don't take my word for it!) but exhaust flaps aren't damaging to the engine as they dson't increase/decrease backpressure by a huge amount (otherwise the car wouldn't run at all!!) and most modern engines self-adjust for differences in atmospherics etc? Best to ask an expert though!!

Looking forward to seeing it/you next weekend!

Thanks for pointing out. I know it's very silly of me  but.. thought I'd give it a try.. I also heard that factory windows come 75% tinted but I don't wanna leave it unbalanced with the rest of the windows so..

hmm.. red was actually my first choice.
other sample cars with black rims (going to paint mine too) looked good to me, but i will reconsider again

my friend's GTR R35 is having some trouble with that but on e63 M6, i haven't heard anyone having this problem.
i will look further into this just to make sure, thanks :)

I have already ordered these from the same seller I bought from last time for my 630i. but thanks again.

that is very useful information. I got slightly worried as this car has a history of O2 sensor malfunction repair.
hopefully I will get my exhausts done before Gaydon :D

Looking forward to seeing it/you next weekend!
Thanks again,
I'm gonna PM members here regarding the parts,
I look forward to seeing you soon too. :)

Yes, it is Lewy! (very good memory :D )
He loves his GTR so much he had to have another one..so he decided to let this beast go.

I know that this M6 has been kept in very good condition and well treated by my friend, plus I had a fantastic deal so I just went for it without any hesitation.
I won't be able to do much on the mods before the Gaydon but the car will be completely transformed in the near future.. :D

See you soon at Gaydon mate B-)
