Curious, M52 oil separator, anyone ever had issues?

Post by Beeverboy » 18 Jul 2018, 20:42

Hi guys,
Curious to know whether anyone has ever had issues with they're M52 oil separators? The breather pipe that goes between the separator and the dipstick has gone soft so thought I'd replace it but don't know wether to bother replacing the separator?
Cheers,
Adam

Adam

Had the same on my 330ci other words it was mooing :)) :)) it was leaking on every pipe on the CCV from the top of the manifold to the separator to the dipstick, it took me 2 nights to complete the job, but was well worth it as you can see the performance back and mpg

Before the problem was getting 19mpg with it fixed got nearly 30mpg

The pipes are only plastic stupid idea, but they break up from the heat

The M52 is a rubber hose to the dipstick, then plastic up to the rocker cover. Cars a drift car anyway so not worried about MPG just want to know if the oil separators ever cause an issue on the M52’s...

Looking at some info on the net including youtube, this could blow the engine as it sucks in oil from the value, some people have done a CCV delete
