Volvo commits suicide?

They have led the way before with stuff like seat belts, but is the 'consumer world' really ready for this? Particularly emerging nations where the infrastructure might not be in place? The cynic in me wonders if this is just PR as 'hybrid' can be a humungous IC engoine with a battery providing 20 miles of range?.....

For a company that has thrived because they make big heavy /well built vehicles to carry big heavy things in comfort, this could spell curtains for the firm.

Il still buy one
Even if it's just to rip out the electric motor and transplant a nice petroleum burning monster

I don't think it's a good route to go down to only offer electric/hybrid
Volvo have done well in the higher end markets and I can't see the American and Arab market swoping the convenience of a real engine for something you need to plug in
Life's to short to be driving boring cars
It's all about the old school
