Cheap politicking - nothing more. The M1 cameras are already active - all the time - he's blustering about lowering the level at which they operate. As the article says most of the money goes to the Treasury so there's no saying it'll come back to him anyway. He's trying to leverage for more funds.

He should have a close look at where it's currently being spent/wasted...............

They've been talking about doing this for ages, citing that modern cars accurate speedos don't need the +/-10% etc :evil:

At least your car has a speedo with GPS that's relatively accurate, mine's so old it goes backwards :))

Noticed with Eleanor it's harder to keep speed in an auto without controlling your gears manually and having engine braking on demand. I wouldn't want to try to keep within +/- 1mph!

TBF I really don't speed at all so I'm not the one they should be after. I've seen enough utterly moronic driving but of course there's no money for police so they get away with it.
