Cooper park lane auto

Post by Ducatibob » 13 Jul 2016, 14:50

I have just purchased a 2005 cooper park lane edition with 26,000 miles on the clock
Car is in great condition but I have a few little niggles
The main one is how heavy the steering is compared to all the other cars that I have had,the steering pump is working OK as u can hear it when the wheel is at full lock,so was wondering if it is meant to be like that or there is a problem
The version I have had a sat nav in the centre console which I struggle to see as it is very dim even when set to full brightness in fact when u adjust it from darkest to brightest it doesn't really change much
I would be grateful for your thoughts thanks,Bob

I've only driven one and the steering was about the same as my current 1-series. Check the tyre pressures and condition first and maybe raise the front end ad make sure the wheels turn lock to lock freely .I wouldn't call the steering 'light' (as per old Jags for example) but nowhere near as heavy as non-PS cars either. Just because the pump is working, doesn't mean the steering geometry is all good!

Sorry -nothingto add on the nav.
